Sunblest Farms  Homeowners Association
Good neighbors. Good neighborhood.
DUES COMING DUE: Association dues are due soon. Try to make
payments by May 1, since late fees and interest will be applied on May
15. Your didn’t get an invoice this year? Just send an e-mail to
treasurer@sunblestfarms.org to make sure our records are updated.
As in past years, the association will go to court to collect dues that
remain unpaid after June 15. Our recent legal success is one reason
dues have remain stable for several years. Save the association time
and money by paying now. Your neighbors will thank you.

SPRING CLEANUP SET: A “spring cleanup” is scheduled for May 6-7,
when the association will have a dumpster available for residents' use
in the pool parking lot. Take this opportunity to spruce up your
property, but be considerate: When the dumpster is full, please stop
dumping. Costs increase when the dumpster overflows. Consider
donating unwanted furniture or clothing to charity—or save it for the
association-wide garage sale scheduled for June 3.

SUMMER FUN: Pool tags will be available May 6-7 at the pool for
residents who have paid their association dues. Stop by to pick up your
ticket to a summer of fun in the sun. The pool will be open May 27-
Sept. 4. On weekdays when school is still in session, the pool won’t
open until 4 p.m.  After school ends, hours will be:
10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays (and holidays)
10 a.m.-9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays
Weather also is a factor—the pool will be closed whenever the
temperature is below 70 degrees, for one hour following a lightning
strike, and for a half-hour after thunder is heard.
SPEED LIMITS: The board is considering installing new speed limit
signs in the neighborhood to discourage motorists who speed through
our residential streets. The town of Fishers has OK’d the move, but
the signs will have to be purchased at our expense. Board members
will vote on the matter after reviewing the 2006 budget to determine
whether that’s feasible. In the meantime, residents are asked to abide
by the current 30 mph limit—please help keep our neighborhood safe.

POOL TAGS: Board members amended the association’s pool tag
policy to include a provision for residents buying homes on contract.
Such homeowners may be able to use the neighborhood pool under
the same rules as other residents after providing the board with
documentation of their status. Such proof may include a contract duly
recorded in the Hamilton County courts and a homeowners' insurance
policy in the resident's name. Decisions will be made on a case-by-
case basis.

CRIME WATCH: Sunblest Farms residents experienced a rash of
vandalism in March, with several homeowners reporting damage to
their vehicles. Remember to report any suspicious activity to police,
and don’t hesitate to let Crime Watch coordinator Karen Vibbert know
too, so she can spread the word. She can be reached at 576-8089 or
crimewatch@sunblestfarms.org.

ROUNDABOUT: The board has learned of plans for a roundabout
to be built at the intersection of Lantern Road and 126th Street—
something that is likely to cause traffic problems during construction.
Town officials have promised to discuss the project at an association
meeting before the work begins.  Stay tuned for details.

RECYCLING: Board members agreed to allow a paper recycling
dumpster to be placed in the pool parking lot. This bin will accept
catalogs, magazines, newspapers, junk mail, office paper, fax paper,
notebooks and folders.  Please do not use it to discard textbooks,
phone books, cardboard or kitchen and bath products
.

Light the night: Please remember to change the bulbs in your
outside lights when they burn out. Good lighting can do a lot to keep
our neighborhood safe.

Appearances matter: Store building materials, garbage cans and
similar items in your garage or where they can’t be seen from the
street.

Be a responsible pet owner: Clean up after your animal and
make sure to abide by the Fishers leash law--which applies to both
dogs and cats. Simply put, pets should not be roaming free. To report
nuisance strays, call Animal Control at 595-3300 or police dispatch at
773-1282.

Be courteous: If you're getting rid of an appliance or other bulky
item, please notify your garbage company and wait until waste pickup
day to place the item at the curb. Keeping the neighborhood looking
nice is everyone's responsibility.

Selling your house? Don’t forget to call Treasurer Tamra Vincent at
915-9212 at least two weeks before closing to get a statement saying
you are up to date on your dues. We try to accommodate last-minute
requests, but as volunteers we can’t always make miracles happen.

New to the neighborhood? Once you get settled, contact
Secretary Andrea Davis at 915-1156 (or sunblestfarms@yahoo.com)
to get a resident questionnaire. The association uses the information
for a neighborhood directory and to keep our records current.
