Sunblest Farms Homeowners Association
Good neighbors. Good neighborhood.
126th STREET ROUNDABOUT: The town of Fishers is planning to
build a "roundabout" at the intersection of 126th Street and Lantern
Road. Town engineers say it will extend the life of the intersection for
an additional five to seven years. If a traffic light were to be installed
there, they said, they would have to add lanes to keep up with
ever-increasing traffic. Obviously, the project will have a significant
impact on Sunblest Farms, both during and after construction. Town
officials have promised to attend a neighborhood board meeting before
starting the project this summer, in hopes of allaying our fears and
addressing our concerns. Stay tuned for details.
DUES COMING DUE: Homeowners should have received invoices for
their 2006 association dues of $400. Payments are due in full no later
than May 1. After May 15, late charges will be assessed and interest
will begin to accrue. Any accounts that remain unpaid as of June 1 will
be pursued in small-claims court. The association board had worked
hard to keep expenses in check so dues can remain stable, but unpaid
accounts threaten that. Please be a good neighbor and pay your dues
on time. Pool tags will be handed out May 6-7 to homeowners in good
standing. Details will follow.
RECYCLE AWAY!: A large green and yellow bin has been placed in
the pool parking lot to collect recyclable paper. This bin will accept all
catalogs, magazines, newspapers, junk mail, office paper, fax paper,
notebooks and folders. Please do not use it to discard textbooks,
phone books, cardboard or kitchen and bath products.
DUMPSTER: The association plans to rent a trash dumpster again this
year during a weekend in early June. Details to come.
FINANCES: The association ended 2005 with net income of $12,000,
which allows us to maintain our required reserves - a good thing since
we will need a new pool cover next year. Our water bill has been
extraordinarily high, and board members are checking into that.
POOL: The 2006 contract with Indianapolis Pool Management has
been finalized. The pool will be open May 27-Sept. 4. After schools
close for the summer, hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays
and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. On school days, the pool
won't open until 4 p.m. It also will be closed during bad weather and
when the temperature falls below 70 degrees.
CRIME WATCH: Fishers Police are investigating a number of
burglaries, and Sunblest Farms residents have reported isolated
cases of vandalism. Please call the police if you see anything
suspicious. The bike rack at the pool also is being vandalized. Board
members will look into disposing of it.
WEB SITE: Board members are discussing ways to keep residents
informed when there are updates to the association's Web site. The
discussion will continue at the March meeting.

Be courteous: If you're getting rid of an appliance or other bulky
item, please notify your garbage company and wait until waste pickup
day to place the item at the curb. Keeping the neighborhood looking
nice is everyone's responsibility.
Fire safety tips: Our friendly neighborhood fire marshal reminds
everyone to check the batteries in their smoke detectors and use
space heaters with extreme caution. Fires are all too common this
time of year, but they can be avoided.
School bus safety: Parents, when waiting in your car at
neighborhood bus stops, please be courteous to other drivers by
parking on the right side of the street and keeping your headlights
off. Also, make sure to stop when the school buses are stopped. It’s
against the law to pass a bus that has its stop-arm extended.
Selling your house? Don’t forget to call Treasurer Tamra Vincent at
915-9212 at least two weeks before closing to get a statement saying
you are up to date on your dues. We try to accommodate last-minute
requests, but as volunteers we can’t always make miracles happen.
New to the neighborhood? Once you get settled, contact
Secretary Andrea Davis at 915-1156 (or sunblestfarms@yahoo.com)
to get a resident questionnaire. The association uses the information
for a neighborhood directory and to keep our records current.
